Introduction

A computer with Windows Vista and Internet Explorer 7 trying to compose a new e-mail in SurgeMail software may see a grey box with a red X in it.  This article helps you configure your Internet Explorer browser software to work properly with SurgeMail.

 

 

Configuration Instructions

In Internet Explorer 7, click Tools, and select Internet Options.

 

On the Internet Options screen, select the Advanced tab, select Restore advanced settings, and then click Reset.

 

Close the browser

Open a new Internet Explorer window and log in to SurgeMail Client.

 

Click New to compose a new e-mail.  You should see a window asking you to install an ActiveX control (Microsoft ® Dynamic HTML Editing Control).

 

Click the Information Bar at the top of the browser and select Run ActiveX Control.

You will see a Security Warning.

 

Click Run.

 

If you do not see the Information Bar or the Active X Control, contact Microsoft to seek an alternate method of installing Microsoft ® Dynamic HTML Editing Control.
