To delete a department in your eCommerce website, first enter the Department List page by clicking the Department link from your Site Manager’s main menu.
Scroll down so that you can see the list of departments. On the right side of each department listing is a button. Click this button to remove a department.
You will not be able to delete a Parent department that has child departments inside of it. If you try this, the website will give you a warning that it is unable to do so. If you wish to delete the Parent department, then you must either move the existing Child departments to other parents, or delete the Child departments, before you delete the Parent department.
From this screen, you can click on one of the Sub-Department links, which will take you to an edit screen from which you can delete the Child department.
If you try to delete a Child department that contains products, you can still do this. Any products in the department when you delete it, however, will be removed from your website. To this end, the website will give you a notice when you perform this action. If you choose to delete the department and the associated product(s), click the button again.
