Introduction |
This article helps you learn how to create and use Coupon Promotions.Coupon Promotions are codes that you distribute to your expected customer base as an incentive to purchase from your site.You can track coupon codes as they are redeemed for tracking your advertising, tracking purchases for various fundraisers, or just to attract more traffic.Coupon codes can be printed on a coupon or a flier (by a printing service such as Kinko’s Copies, or your own printer using separate software), written on the back of a business card, displayed on a Web site, distributed through e-mail, fundraising programs, or other methods. |
Note: Combining this discount with Price Quote/Label, Price Promotions, Shipping Promotions, and other discounts may discount the product to a lower price than you plan on. Use this feature with caution, and run a test purchase to make sure it performs the way you expect. |

Step 1: Create coupon promotion |
|
|
On the Site Manager main menu, click the Promotions link. |
|
|
|
|
|
Next, click the Coupon Promotions link. |
|
|
|
|
|
Next, click the Add Coupon Promotion button. |
|
|
Step 2: Configure coupon promotion |
|
|
Assign a short and easy-to-retype promotional code, as your customer must type this code in to receive the discount. |

|
|
|
|
The description is only visible to you, not your customer. This is to remind you why you created the promotion. |
|
|
|
|
|
The status must be set to ON for your customers to be able to use this promotion, and OFF if you do not wish for them to use it. |

|
|
|
|
Apply Coupon to determines which type of shopper can use this coupon. Any Shopper includes all shoppers to whom you have assigned a shopper discount, yellow pricing, and goldenrod pricing. |

|
Start date and end date determines the timeframe this promotion is valid. |
|
|
|
|
|
This field determines what discount your customer receives. Enter as a numeric value. Configure the discount as a percentage off or a dollar amount off by using the pull-down menu next to it. |

|
|
This field determines how many times the customer can redeem the promotion. Setting this to 0 means the customer can use it as many times as they like. |
